We were thrilled to welcome regional heads from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to our project site at Buhangin Creek, Philippines, where we had the opportunity to showcase our river cleaning site and sustainable board production. Their visit reinforced the shared commitment to tackling plastic pollution at its source and driving real, lasting change through circular economy solutions.

ADB’s commitment to environmental sustainability and the Blue Economy aligns closely with our work, and this visit reinforced our shared dedication to tackling plastic pollution at its source through circular economy solutions.Turning Plastic Waste into Opportunity

With rivers carrying ocean-bound plastic, the urgency to act has never been greater. At RiverRecycle, we’re addressing this challenge by collecting plastic waste from waterways and transforming it into durable, high-quality boards. These boards provide a sustainable alternative to traditional materials, helping businesses and communities adopt circular practices while reducing pollution.

Asian Development Bank’s mission to support environmental sustainability and the Blue Economy aligns perfectly with what we do.

During our discussions, we explored how we can work together to scale solutions that prevent plastic waste from entering the oceans while creating economic opportunities.

Key areas of focus included:

  • Expanding river-cleaning operations to intercept more plastic before it reaches the ocean.
  • Accelerating the adoption of circular materials by promoting sustainable alternatives like RiverRecycle boards.
  • Encouraging policy support and investment to drive long-term, system-wide change.

Excited for What’s Ahead

This visit was an important step in fostering collaboration between RiverRecycle and Asian Development Bank, and we’re excited about the possibilities ahead.
