The project aims first to establish chemical recycling facilities to create value from plastic waste that would otherwise end up in the environment.
Secondly, we establish a river-based collection system to immediately halt the flow of plastic into the Manila Bay from Manila through Pasig river.
For land-based collection, we work with
- Plastic Credit Exchange (PCEx) who have a plan to establish 100 plastic waste collection points in the City of Manila
- Unilever Philippines to scale up the existing collection activities and with
- ICTSI Foundation to scale up the ongoing waste management activities and community collection in two communities in the Manila port area.
