Mithi River cleaning: Special machine installed to collect and recycle floating plastic waste

In order to clean the Mithi River, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) in collaboration with the Marine Debris Partnership launched a special project. Maharashtra environment minister Aaditya Thackeray was present during the project launch event. A special machine will be used to clean the river. The machine was developed by Finland’s RiverRecycle. The machine will collect floating plastic waste and recycle it.
